Air India Express commences operations from new Bhogapuram Airport in Andhra Pradesh
Air India Express has officially commenced operations from the newly inaugurated Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram (near Visakhapatnam) on 17 August 2026.

Inaugural Highlights
- First flight: Visakhapatnam → Bengaluru at 08:00 hrs.
- Guests received ceremonial boarding passes to mark the occasion.
Expansion Plans
- From 1 September 2026:
- New Tirupati → Hyderabad daily service.
- Resumption of Hyderabad → Chennai daily flights.
- Current network: 48 domestic and 16 international destinations, with over 3,000 weekly flights across India, Southeast Asia, and West Asia.
This launch strengthens connectivity for Visakhapatnam, making Bhogapuram a new hub for both business and leisure travelers.
