IndiGo, India's preferred airline and one of the world’s fastest growing
carriers, has announced the launch of non-stop, bi-weekly flights between Gaya and Bangkok, effective
26 October 2026.
Launch Details
- Start Date: 26 October 2026
- Frequency: Bi-weekly (Mondays & Thursdays)
Flight Schedules:
- Gaya → Bangkok: 6E 1083 (Departs 13:15, Arrives 17:50)
- Bangkok → Gaya: 6E 1084 (Departs 10:15, Arrives 12:15)
- Note: All timings are local and subject to regulatory approvals
Significance
- Creates a direct air bridge between Bihar and Thailand, strengthening cultural and spiritual ties rooted in Buddhist heritage.
- Connects Bodh Gaya, home to the Mahabodhi Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site), with Bangkok, a hub of Buddhist traditions.
- Expected to boost tourism, cultural exchange, and local economic development in Bihar

- Already operates 140+ weekly flights between India and Thailand.
- Current connections include Bangkok from major Indian cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar).
