Bharat’s Bullet Train Takes Shape Across the Scenic Terrains of Thane and Palghar

The Bharat Bullet Train project is visibly advancing across the scenic terrains of Thane and Palghar, marking a major milestone in India’s high-speed rail ambitions.

Key Engineering Highlights
- 135.45 km Elevated Section: From Shilphata (Thane) to Zaroli (Maharashtra–Gujarat border).
- Viaducts & Bridges: 124 km of elevated structures, with piers ready across 74 km to receive viaduct girders.
- Stations: Elevated stations at Thane, Virar, and Boisar. The Thane station is designed 12m above ground to protect mangroves in the eco-sensitive zone.
- Tunnels: 7 mountain tunnels planned; 3 have already achieved breakthrough, with lining and waterproofing underway.

Major Bridges:
- Ulhas River – 460m
- Vaitarna River – 2.32 km
- Jagani River – 510m
- Supporting Infrastructure: 9 casting yards, 7 full-span launching gantries, and 8 SBS gantries operational in Maharashtra.
