Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) , India's largest hospitality company, announced the signing of a Gateway branded hotel in Agartala, Tripura. The brownfield project expands Gateway’s presence in the North East.

Marks the second anniversary of the re-imagined Gateway brand under IHCL.
Project:
Signing of a 104-key Gateway hotel in Agartala, Tripura, in partnership with Samashti Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd.
Facilities:
All-day dining, specialty restaurant and bar, spa, fitness centre, swimming pool, banqueting venues, and meeting rooms.
Strategic Goal:
Strengthen Gateway’s footprint in the North East, aligning with IHCL’s plan to reach 100 hotels by 2030.
Context:
Agartala is seeing rising demand for hospitality due to economic growth. The city is known for cultural landmarks like Ujjayanta Palace and Neermahal.
IHCL Portfolio:
Currently 650 hotels globally, with 268 in the pipeline across 15 countries and 300+ locations.
This move positions IHCL with three hotels in Tripura (including two under development), reinforcing its strategy of expanding into emerging destinations.
