Emirates and Al Etihad Payments partner to bring Jaywan the UAE's national card scheme to flight bookings

Emirates’ new partnership with Al Etihad Payments brings Jaywan, the UAE’s national card scheme, directly into flight bookings—making it easier and more rewarding for UAE customers to pay for travel.

Start Date:
16 September 2026

Payment Options:
- Online at emirates.com (Jaywan card details at checkout)
- At Emirates retail stores (physical card verification by staff)

Accepted Cards:
Jaywan Royal Debit, Jaywan Prestige Debit, Jaywan Prepaid

Customer Benefits
- Special fares across all cabin classes (Economy, Premium Economy, Business, First).
- Discounts apply to most fare types, for both one‑way and return tickets from Dubai.
- Offer valid for bookings until 31 August 2027, for travel up to 29 February 2028.

Strategic Significance
- Strengthens the UAE’s domestic payments ecosystem and supports the national cashless strategy.
- Builds on Emirates’ broader push into digital payments (e.g., Crypto.com Pay™, Dubai Cashless Strategy MoU).
- Jaywan cards are already accepted across a wide merchant network—ride‑hailing, restaurants, healthcare, retail—now extended to air travel.

Leadership Voices
- Adnan Kazim, Emirates Deputy President & CCO:
“Jaywan is now added as a homegrown option that adds further choice and simplicity when booking.”
- Dr. Tariq Al Hawi, COO Al Etihad Payments:
“Acceptance of Jaywan cards across Emirates gives cardholders greater choice, flexibility and convenience, combined with exclusive fares.”

This partnership is a strong example of how airlines are aligning with national financial infrastructure to deliver both convenience and value.
