Delhi Metro augments train services across its network to manage increased passenger rush
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been continuously augmenting train services across its network since 16th September 2026 to manage the increased passenger rush and facilitate smooth movement of commuters.
Service Enhancements
- Since 16 September 2026, DMRC has been adding trains and trips to manage increased passenger rush.
Daily additions:
- 16 Sept: 8 trains, 20 extra trips
- 17 Sept: 8 trains, 32 extra trips
- 18 Sept: 8 trains, 38 extra trips
- 19 Sept: 8 trains, 50 extra trips
- 20 Sept: 8 trains, 43 extra trips
- 21 Sept: 10 trains, 44 extra trips
- 22 Sept: 10 trains, 39 extra trips
Passenger Facilitation
- 40+ Customer Facilitation Agents (CFAs) deployed.
- 17 ticket office machines operationalized to ease ticketing.
- Focus on peak-hour demand and smoother commuter movement.
Record Ridership
- 17 September 2026: Delhi Metro recorded its highest-ever single-day boardings — 82,44,903 passengers, surpassing the previous record of 81,87,674 on 8 August 2025.
