Revised provision aims at making National Highway tolling ecosystem more accessible, transparent and user-friendly for eligible Divyangjan/PwD beneficiaries. The guidelines will come into effect from 2nd October 2026.
Eligibility:
- Vehicles specially designed for persons with physical disabilities.
- Vehicles registered under ownership type Divyangjan.
- Issuance based on valid Disability Certificate, UDID Card, or other official records.
Validity Periods (based on disability percentage):
- 70%–100% disability: FASTag valid for 5 years.
- 40%–70% disability: FASTag valid for 3 years.
- Renewal possible thereafter, subject to continued eligibility.
- Earlier Rule: Annual renewal was mandatory.
- New Rule: Longer validity reduces repeated procedural formalities.
