Metro Railway Kolkata will run extensive special services across the Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple, and Orange Lines during Durga Puja 2026 (15-21 October 2026) to facilitate travel to Puja pandals and other destinations.
Blue Line (Dakshineswar - Shahid Khudiram)
15-16 Oct (Panchami & Sasthi):
- 284 services daily (142 UP + 142 DN)
- Service hours: 06:00-23:00
- Peak frequency: 6 minutes
17-20 Oct (Saptami to Navami):
- 248 services daily
- Service hours: 13:00-04:00 next morning
- Peak frequency: 6 minutes
21 Oct (Dashami):
- 140 services
- Service hours: 13:00-22:30
- Peak frequency: 8 minutes
Green Line (Howrah Maidan - Salt Lake Sector V)
15-16 Oct:
- 240 services
- Service hours: 06:00-23:00
- Peak frequency: 6 minutes
17-20 Oct:
- 192 services
- Service hours: 13:30-03:59 next morning
- Peak frequency: 8 minutes
21 Oct:
- 74 services
- Service hours: 13:30-22:30
- Frequency: 15 minutes
Yellow Line (Noapara - Jai Hind Bimanbandar/Airport)
15-16 Oct:
- 120 services
- Service hours: 07:18-21:20

- Five direct services from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Shahid Khudiram.
17-20 Oct:
- 72 services daily
- Service hours: 15:00-22:53
- Peak frequency: 12 minutes
21 Oct:
- 62 services
- Service hours: 15:00-21:38
- Peak frequency: 12 minutes
Purple Line (Joka - Majerhat)
15-16 Oct:
- 84 services daily
- Service hours: 06:40-21:26
- Frequency: 21 minutes
17-21 Oct:
- 38 services daily
- Service hours: 15:00-22:55
- Frequency: 25 minutes
Orange Line (Kavi Subhash - Beleghata)
15-16 Oct:
- 62 services daily
- Service hours: 07:40-20:45
- Frequency: 25 minutes
17-21 Oct (Saptami to Dashami):
- No Metro services will operate.
Important Passenger Advisory
- Purchase or recharge Smart Cards in advance.
- Use the AAMAR KOLKATA METRO app to book QR-based mobile tickets before arriving at stations.
- During peak Puja days, especially on the Blue and Green Lines, trains will run every 6 minutes. Passengers are requested:
- Not to overcrowd trains.
- Not to block train doors.
- Allow boarding and alighting smoothly.
- Wait for the next train when platforms are crowded.
At a Glance
- Late-night operations up to 4:00 AM on the Blue Line and nearly 4:00 AM on the Green Line during Saptami to Navami.
- Most intensive services: Blue Line (248-284 trains daily).
- Airport connectivity maintained through the Yellow Line.
- Orange Line closed from Saptami through Dashami (17-21 Oct).
These special arrangements are intended to help devotees and visitors travel smoothly during the Durga Puja festivities across Kolkata.
